Hello Friends:

I would like to welcome you all in the year 2010-2011.  The past year involved many activities that promoted the objectives of our organization.

A Dedication ceremony was held for the Designated Sacred Space Project on October 30, 2010 in Craik. The ceremony involved prayers from ten different faith groups and a speech by moderator Mardi Tindal.  The site was subsequently dedicated to enhance mutual understanding and respect for each other’s faith and to contribute to a sustainable environment. The possibility of organizing a fair is being considered for the public opening of the site next year.

The second major project on Visual Arts is proceeding well. The project will be piloted in four schools from Regina and Saskatoon. Students will submit art work which will be judged and winning entries will form a travelling art display. Once the pilot phase is completed, the project may be extended to different cities across Saskatchewan. The project is intended to raise level of awareness of presence of different faith groups across Saskatchewan and to promote the concept of Unity in diversity.

The other events that MultiFaith Saskatchewan participated are as follows:

25th Anniversary of Saskatoon Multi-faith

Spring Free From Racism- Regina

Earth Day Film Festival- Craik SK

Interfaith Service in Estevan-Collage-Festival of Cultures.

UC Annual AGM Moose Jaw

We also attended the North America Interfaith Network (NAIN) conference in Salt Lake (US) and would like to increase our participation with other inter-faith organizations. Participation in these conferences provides new ideas and networking opportunities to further the organization’s objectives. We require more funds to attend these conferences and initiate new projects in the future. These projects will benefit the entire community by transferring the concept of unity of mankind from our organization to the members of the society at large.

I would like to appeal to all of you to renew your memberships. If you are an existing member, I would request you to encourage others to be a part of the organization and support our initiatives in creating a peaceful, loving and harmonious society. There are three kinds of membership:

(b)   Associate membership ($15): This membership is open to provincial or regional single faith group or faith related organization.
